· CREATIVE WRITING (Year) Grade Level: 10-12 Prerequisite: High interest in creative writing; 'B' average or better in previous English class and teacher recommendation and contract. Do you like to write? Do you keep a journal? Do you write poetry? Do you secretly (or not secretly) write short stories or plays? Creative Writing will refine your skills in these areas as well as provide a forum for group critiquing. The class will publish a literary magazine each year and will study the techniques of various professional writers. Students will learn the basics of descriptive, narrative, and poetry writing through daily written assignments. Students will be required to sign a contract prior to registration.
