· PRACTICAL ENGLISH (Year) Grade Level: 11-12 Prerequisite: Successful completion of English 3-4. The Practical English class is highly recommended for juniors and seniors who do not plan to attend a two or four year college after graduation from high school. This class will help students to develop the kind of reading, writing, speaking, listening, and critical thinking skills which they will need to be successful in their jobs and in their everyday lives. The study of literature and the writing of compositions will be included in the curriculum, but not to the extent of college prep. classes. Instead, practical and vocational skills will be emphasized.
