· WORLD LITERATURE (Year) Grade Level: 11-12 Prerequisite: Successful completion of English 2 This course uses the world's literature to explore the themes associated with the universal human condition including: Origins of life, relationships, personal and social responsibility, and cultural identity. Some of the major works include Frankenstein, The Plague, and The Tempest, and short stories and poetry from Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Students will be required to write one term paper each semester. Student participation in all class activities is extremely important for successful completion of this course.
