You only have three more days to buy your Prom ticket.Tickets will be on sale in the quad today, Monday and Tuesday. After that, your most precious high school memories will be no more. Buy your tickets today. Prices go up next week.
Juniors and Seniors, the Prom Royalty Vote is still open until Tuesday. Check your email for the information!
Club Carnival is coming up on April 28th. Talk with your clubs about what you want to sell now- then fill out the Club Carnival Request form available in the Clubs Congress Google Classroom.
April 17th is Mariner Monday! Please wear your Mariner Wear or SAIL wear on Monday to show your Mariner pride and receive 5 5-Star points from your teachers! A few district members will be visiting our campus to learn more about our PBIS program, they might even ask you a few questions about our school.
In the world of Mariner Athletics, spring sports find themselves in the stretch run of the regular season!
To start, Giant shout out to Boys Tennis! Boys had two big wins this week over Santa Cruz and SLV! Boys Tennis has an important week next week as they close out the regular season with 3 big league matches, as they take on Scott’s Valley twice and also have a second battle against a talented Soquel team!
Girls softball played in one of the best games of the year Tuesday night at home, as they fell to top ranked SLV by a score of 8-7. The game went to 10 innings and went to California Tiebreaker rules! Softball will look to bounce back tonight as they take on Soquel!
Congrats to Girls Lacrosse who hosted their first ever home game Today night, and earned the first win in our school’s history over Soquel by a score of 9-2!
Boys Lacrosse has a home game tonight vs PCS at 5 pm here at Dilfer stadium!
Baseball beat SLV on Tuesday after a close game vs Menlo! Baseball will also travel to Soquel tonight for another league contest.
Beach VB will travel to Harbor today for an early afternoon match at Harbor HS courts and will take on Scott’s Valley Tuesday at Main Beach
Swim will close out regular season today as they travel to Santa Cruz HS.
Track and Field had a great team win last night vs Scott’s Valley and Mt Madonna. Track travels to Soquel tomorrow and has a BYE next week before finishing up against Harbor on 27th.
Boys Golf beat SLV on Tuesday and will have 2 matches next week!
Finally, Boys Volleyball win an exciting match over Paso Robles on Wednesday in 5 sets, coming back to win the 5th set 16-14! They battled Harbor last night and will travel to SLV this evening, capping off a busy week in the gym!

We hope you had a peaceful spring break! April is officially Arab American Month. The Arab World often includes 22 countries, represented by the League of Arab States, including Palestine which comprises the West Bank and Gaza. More facts to follow.

This week in athletics, we have events on the schedule all week!
Baseball will have a makeup game against Menlo School today at 4 pm.
Boys Golf will tee off today at 4pm at Boulder Creek course in Felton against SLV!
We also have an important update for Boys Volleyball…. tonight’s makeup match scheduled at Scott’s Valley has been postponed! Please see Coach Hunter with questions for practice.
Boys and Girls Lacrosse also have home games this week! Girls host Soquel on Tuesday and Boys have home games on Wednesday and Friday against Valley Christian and PCS both games at 6 pm.
Boys Tennis will play Santa Cruz Tuesday at home and SLV on the road Thursday this week.
Track has their final home meet this Thursday vs Mt Madonna and Scott’s Valley and will also compete at the Knight Invitational Saturday evening at Soquel!
Swimming will finish the regular season this Friday when they travel to Santa Cruz HS for the final dual league meet of the season!

Today’s Women History Month shout out goes to the six women who have been among the 115 United States Supreme Court Justices: Sandra Day O’Connor, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan, Amy Coney Barrett, and Ketanji Brown Jackson. If any of these names are new to you, we encourage you to learn more about our Supreme Court Justices.
Voting is still open for ASB Student government candidates! Check your email now for the voting form and vote before the end of the day. The form will close 10 minutes after 7th period. Your candidates are depending on you, so get that vote in! All voters will also earn 5 Star points!
Speaking of 5 Star Points, the 5 Star fest is coming! You can check your 5 Star Points at the activities web page bit.ly/aptoshigh. You will be able to redeem your points online for prizes beginning May 3rd. Keep earning those 5 Star Points Mariners! The highest earning Senior (by April 19th) will win a prom bid! By the end of the school year, the highest earning Junior will win a Senior Package for next year which includes a Yearbook, Prom bid and cap and gown! And by the end of the year, the highest earning Sophomore will earn a Prom bid for next year.

Our flags will be at half mast to remember the victims from yesterday in Nashville, Tennessee.
Our women’s history shout out today is for Emily Kauʻiomakaweliokauaionalaniokamanookalanipo Kukahiwa Zuttermeister, also known as Aunty Kauʻi, is a revered Kumu Hula (master hula teacher) from Hawaiʻi. Zuttermeister helped revitalize ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi (Hawaiian language) and culture by teaching hula. She was part of a community of leaders who raised awareness about hula as a storytelling art form created by the Hawaiian people to recall and share their knowledge.
Seniors! Cap and gown distribution is happening today at lunch in the PAC atrium. Come on down and grab your graduation announcements, caps and gowns and anything else you ordered. Herff Jones will have some extras on hand to purchase if you need it.
Prom tickets will be sold in the ASB room L-100 due to the rain today. Make sure to bring your signed permission slip.
If you’re looking for a place to hang out at lunch today, come on into the ASB room L-100 for Lunch with The Council. We’ll have popcorn and ASB leaders playing games.
Now for a quick update on today's sports schedule…
Tonight’s softball game at Harbor High School has been postponed and there will be no softball practice this evening. Coach Phil says “ do you homework!”
Tonight’s Beach Volleyball makeup-match vs Mt. Madonna has been postponed and there will be no practice tonight. Coach says do your homework!
Boys and Girls Lacrosse has a double header tonight at Soquel High School. Our Girls lacrosse team will play at 5:30 and Boys lacrosse will play after at 7:00. Coach says do your homework after the game!
Boys Volleyball will travel to Santa Cruz tonight to battle the Cardinals in SCCAL action. JV will play at 4:30, and Varsity will play after at 6…. Boys Volleyball will then be doing their homework after the game!
Track and Field will practice directly after school today, for a full workout in the Main Gym. After the full workout, Track and Field students should do their homework!

Today’s women’s history month pays tribute to Greta Thunberg. As a student, she stood up to the world to educate them about our carbon footprint. Thunberg credits her Asperger’s diagnosis as a strength, because it helps her focus on her cause, the earth. She asks, how can we do more in climate activism, starting today? What are you going to do about helping us?
For students observing Ramadan, please see one of the principals or security team members for alternative locations to go during break or lunch.
Thank you to all of the AHS students who continue to demonstrate SAIL values at school. Here are our Mariner Moment Award honorees for the week of March 20th to March 24th: Ms. Rodriguez honored Cat Leal for being integrity oriented. Ms. Higgins recognized Sam Cabrera for leading by example. Ms. Tovani honored Aritzel Gallardo Gutierez for aspiring higher, being integrity oriented and leading by example. She also nominated Chance Thornbrugh for leading by example and aspiring higher. Rylan Reese was nominated by Ms. Tovani for aspiring higher. Way to go Mariners! Honorees receive 25 “5-Star” points for being recognized for their contribution to a positive school culture at AHS.
In the world of Mariner Athletics, varsity baseball and softball both open up the week with home games tonight, after finishing last week with big league wins over Scott’s Valley on Friday.
Track and Field had a good showing at Gilroy over the weekend and will host Soquel and St Francis at home on Thursday in a 3 team meet
Boys Tennis beat Santa Cruz at home on Friday in dominant fashion.
Boys Golf is scheduled to play SLV tomorrow night at Boulder Creek. Please stay tuned for weather updates.

In the world of athletics, there are lots going on as usual!
Aptos dancers did amazing last week at Nationals in Anaheim! All of their dances qualified for the highest level of competition and the Mariners went against some of the best teams in the country. Aptos small group got 6th in the Nation!!! …Bella Garvey and Amelia Valoroso advanced to finals in the solo division…Amelia got 10th and Bella got 7th! Congrats to the AHS dance team on an amazing season and thank you to all the seniors for a great career!
Boys Lacrosse went on the road and got a big league win over Carmel 7-6 on Wednesday night! They will play Soquel along with the girls team at Soquel on Tuesday
Track and Field beat SLV last night in dominant fashion here at home. Next up for track is the Avis Kelley invite in Gilroy tomorrow.
Last night Boys Volleyball went on the road and battled Soquel, after the match on Tuesday was postponed.
Boys golf continues their strong play with another league win over Santa Cruz. Sophomore Ben Nowark was the medalist again last night, his
second in a row.
Tonight is another busy night on campus with baseball, softball,swim, beach volleyball and e sports all having home contests… everyone is encouraged to stop by and catch a game this afternoon and support your fellow Mariners….beach Volleyball will play at Platform Beach!
