Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) addresses the needs of our students academically, behaviorally, socially, and emotionally. PBIS is a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), which provides different levels of support based on student behavior. This website provides more information about PBIS within the MTSS Framework.

Student behaviors may be managed by a teacher or an administrator, based on the behavior demonstrated. If an administrator is required by the behavior, this is a Major Incident (view the Major Incident Form). If the student behavior does not require administrative intervention, it is a Minor Incident. If a student demonstrates a fourth minor incident, it is then considered a Major Incident, and is referred to administration. The PBIS Leadership Team and administration created this Behavior Flowchart for the purpose of explicitly categorizing behavior, and therefore the appropriate response, to decrease implicit bias and to increase positive student outcomes. Minor incidents are to be tracked on the Minor Incident Form, which encourages a restorative conversation between the adult and student(s) involved, as well as documents the incident in case further intervention is required later. (View the Minor Incident Form) This Behavior Flowchart requires that a staff member makes contact with the parent(s)/guardian(s) of the student before a 4th minor incident occurs. Staff and students engage in discussion regarding this Flowchart each school year, so all stakeholders understand the progressive disciplinary action if an undesired behavior continues.
