Teaching desired behaviors

We also teach formal behavioral SAIL lessons during Tutorial time, in which we often review and discuss these behavioral expectations for various locations on campus with our students.
Teaching desired behaviors to all students addresses the Tieried Fidelity Inventory 1.4 Teaching Expectations: Expected academic and social behaviors are taught directly to all students in classrooms and across other campus settings/locations.

Overview of lessons
The Tier 1 SAIL Leadership Team creates at least one SAIL lesson each semester, to be taught during a designated Tutorial class. The team chooses a SAIL-related topic, based on our perception of highest need for our school, and trains the staff on the upcoming lesson, with room for individual differentiation. Each lesson contains a detailed lesson plan to be provided to each teacher, visual supports (such as Slides, graphic organizers, digital tools), and a Google Form to track student responses. The SAIL Leadership Team then analyzes the student data, creates a concise slideshow to share with the staff, and responds to the data and staff discussions by strengthening our schoolwide interventions and supports. Students who complete the Google Form are awarded 5 Star points for their efforts. To view the lessons for the 2023-2024 school year, please click the button below.
